Gagel to chair KSCPA Taxation Committee

Cotton + Allen is pleased to announce that Selena C. Gagel, CPA, has been named chairperson of the Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accountants Taxation Committee, a two-year term, effective July 1. Gagel has served as a member of the committee for three years.

The Taxation Committee acts as a technical resource for members and legislators during session, is responsible for updating each year the listing of Kentucky communities imposing an Occupational Tax, and is responsible for planning the annual Kentucky State Tax Conference.

Gagel, a supervisor, has been with Cotton + Allen since November 2001.  She is primarily involved in tax planning and compliance for closely held businesses and their owners.  She received a bachelor's of science degree in accounting from Indiana University, Southeast Campus in 2002. 

She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, treasurer of Cub Scout Pack 309 and Zachary Taylor Elementary PTA, volunteer for Junior Achievement and coordinator of the annual Cotton + Allen Salvation Army Toy Drive.  Gagel also has served as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society Relay for Life (2004-2006) and as a student mentor for Indiana University Southeast (2004-2005).
